This week I am getting ready to host a luau-themed birthday party (for myself)! My boyfriend James and I have recently become interested in tiki kitsch culture. We even attended a local tiki event a few weeks ago! I have to say my favorite things about tiki are the retro, bright floral dresses/hawaiian shirts, the 1960's women's hairstyles, the mugs carved into tiki gods, and of course the fruity umbrella cocktails.
In preparation for my party, I've been collecting vintage tiki-theme images and thought I'd share them with you here...
