Farewell pretty Peace Sign Bag! My dad bought this one for his girlfriend's daughter's 13th birthday! I hope she loves it!
I even made some colorful gift wrap for it. I bought some pretty lime green paper and bright pink wraphia at PaperZone. Together with some hand-carved peace sign stamps, I think it looks pretty cute! I handmade the happy birthday tag too :-)

Over the river and through the woods...
Yesterday I visited my grandma. For those of you that know me, you know how much I love to collect antique junk. My family holds the motto to "SAVE EVERYTHING!" Which is a trait that I have clearly inherited. My grandma is also the person who first taught me to sew. She has more fabric than most fabric stores, so I'm always making trips out to visit her to dig through her massive amount of fabric scraps. Yesterday, I actually remembered to take my camera out with me and was able to take a few photos.
Yes, my grandparents live out in farm country. They were just finishing up bailing the hay when I arrived.
A family that collects, literally everything! This is just a portion of my grandpa's golf ball collection.
This room used to be an old garage. They remodeled it a few years ago into "The Boardroom" where they can display more antiques and my grandmother's amazing quilts.
These are just a FEW of the gorgeous quilts my grandma has made.

She's recreated the photos of the Fairies of Cottingley. I recently bought the book, The Coming of the Fairies written by Arthur Conan Doyle (author of the Sherlock Holmes books), which tells the story of how two young girls photographed themselves with fairies in the 1920's.

Flowers from the garden
Another sunny day today. I think I'll do some more sewing in the backyard. I've been making lots of headbands lately. I hope to have them listed in my shop by the end of the weekend. While watering my mom's garden this morning, I picked a bouquet for the kitchen table.
Last week, I bought these two scrap books from the 1970's at Vintage Pink on SE Hawthorne. I thought they would give me some good inspiration. I love how the theme through both of the books are flowers/cats/women. I think an artist must have put these together.

Pirates!
So since I've been in Portland I've been hanging out with my long time friend, Chelsea, helping her paint her new house! She has two boys now and her oldest, Evan wanted his room to be painted with a pirate theme! We got the waves and clouds finished today. Soon, we'll add either a pirate ship or a big octopus!

Summer Drawing Workshop
So last Sunday I took a drawing workshop by Jill Bliss. I haven't spent an afternoon doing nothing but drawing since I was at University of Oregon. I had a lot of fun! It was really cool meeting Jill, Chrissy and April. We spent part of the day in a cafe as the weather couldn't decide if it was going to rain or shine.
