Byron ♥

Last week a very close friend of my family passed away. Byron was 13 years old. He had a long and good life. One of the best dogs I've ever met. We have so many great memories of him. He will be greatly missed. I decided to use my mom's blog Under One Woof as an online memorial for him. We'll be posting lots of photos soon. Check it out if you'd like ♥

Wonderland Quilt

I absolutely love this quilt made by Calamity Kim. Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite children's stories. I've never seen anyone create a quilt like this! I love all of the embroidered details.

Sneak Peek!

Do you remember the Thank You card I designed a few months ago? Well, that illustration was so fun to create I've decided to continue and create a whole line of illustrated greeting cards. Here is a sneak peek of a few designs I've been working on.

These and more will be in my shop this coming Monday! I am also working on a few halloween/christmas cards that will be added too!

Other Camp Smartypants news:
- I'm working on making some new pouches with new dye colors/embroidery designs.
- I'm in the midst of developing a new, smaller bag!
- I keep coming up with new ideas for holiday every day.

So be sure to check bag as I will be posting news of my progress as I go! Hope you all are having a fabulous weekend <3

Craft Club!

This week at Craft Club we all colored these amazing bird pages from a 1970's coloring book I bought a while ago. Everyone's birds turned out so amazing! I'm still working on finishing my rainbow parrots :)

Blackberry Pie, Oh My!

On Tuesday I went out to my grandmother's farm to pick blackberries. I have such great memories picking berries with my mom when I was little. This was the first year I've gone out to pick since then! Despite the hot sun and the thorny pricks on my hands, it was a lot of fun. My favorite part of course is the end result of the work: pie! My mom and I decided not to make just any blackberry pie; we added pears from our neighbors yard and goat cheese! Yum!

Folkloric Fashion Inspiration

I bought this 1974 issue of American Home Crafts Magazine at SCRAP a little while ago and can't stop looking at this article on folkloric fashion. I love the idea of creating bright, colorful designs to brighten the mood of long winters.

Skull Pillows

This weekend I made a trip up to Seattle to visit my friends Cari & Nick. Last year they eloped and so on Saturday they finally threw a party to celebrate. The party was a lot of fun. It was Mexican themed complete with beautiful paper flags, bright colored bouquets, sombreros and tacos for dinner. I decided to make them these skull pillows as a wedding gift.

Craft Club!

Craft Club has become an amazing weekly occurrence lately and last week we made paint chip notebooks and Lindsay and Matt made us an unbelievable dinner and horchata cupcakes for dessert <3
