New! Spiral-Bound Journals

Happy Monday! I'm excited to share two new spiral-bound journals I've just added to my Etsy shop! They are designed and handmade by me (with the help of my friend Alison).

First is the Animal Playground Journal- I originally created the art for this while taking MATS. I'm so excited to see it now used in real life! It's 5x7 in size and has 60 blank white pages inside.

Next up is the new Adventure Journal. It's 6x8 in size and comes with 60 blank white pages inside. What's special about this journal is that you can write your name on the cover AND it comes with a full page of art to cut and paste into your journal pages as you go.

Father's Day Cards + Happy Weekend!

It's hard to believe that June is almost here! I've been super busy with ongoing projects (I'll have a big announcement to make soon!) Before James and I headed to the beach for Memorial Day weekend, I wanted to share my new Father's Day card design. I'm super happy with how it turned out and had a lot of fun brainstorming the different illustration elements for it. What do you think?

Here is a little 'behind the scenes' snapshot of my process of creating the Birthday Wishes card. I always start out sketching and developing a good line drawing. Then I get out my watercolors and have fun painting different elements. Finally I scan it all into the computer and finish it up in Photoshop.

Valentine's Day Sale

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I spent mine relaxing, cooking and writing in my tarot journal. I attended my first yoga class yesterday and took a long hot bath afterwards. Doing the Deeply Rooted Cleanse has really helped me to focus on giving my body lots of love and nourishment and boy do I need it!

Lilla Rogers Studio School - Week 2

Week 2 of Make Art That Sells was surprisingly exciting. We looked at the Baby Apparel market and our assignment was to create art with a camping theme! I don't know how I lucked out with 'camping', but I had a ton of fun creating these designs. Plus it was cool to apply them to some clothing templates to see how my art could really be used on clothing!

Before I share my assignment for Week 2 of Make Art That Sells, I thought I'd show you some more new holiday cards I designed this year! First up is this fun "Merry Christmas" card. I had fun drawing cute little holiday icons.

Fun news today! I drove up to Vancouver, WA this morning to see samples of my first licensing deal with McSteven's Gourmet Gifts. They have transformed my Portland art print into adorable packaging for three new flavors of cocoa! Chocolandia, Tree Hugging Hazelnut and Rose City Vanilla Bean!

I've been making up lots of new tie-dye garlands and peace sign bracelets in preparation for the Crafty Wonderland Spring Sale this Saturday.

Happy April! Hope you all had a wonderful Easter. We had our first weekend of beautiful weather here in Portland. And it was also the first weekend in over two weeks that I've been feeling good! (I've been dealing with a painful pinched nerve in my neck. Ouch!)
