Villainess Soaps
Ok, so I stumbled across this company at NOTCOT.ORG and instantly fell in love. Their branding and package design are absolutely rockin'. Check this shit out!
From Villainess Soaps: “Our catchphrase is “redefining bad.” We’re also taking significant steps to redefine the way skincare is formulated, manufactured and marketed. We love gentle, environmentally conscious, and animal-friendly components as much as anyone. But we’re not interested in helping perpetuate false dichotomies or marketing ploys.”

Merry Xmas to me!
So today I decided to use my xmas bonus to buy an entire year's subscription to Kate Bingaman Burt's "What did you buy today?" Zine! Kate is both artist and graphic designer and she lives in my favorite place, Portland OR! Check out a Q&A Interview with her at My Love For You. Also check out her blog, Obsessive Consumption and her Etsy shop.
Her work is so amazing and I love her hand-lettering and illustration style. I am so inspired by her ability to transform ordinary objects into art.

More Thrifty Finds
Happy snow day in Seattle! Today I thought I'd share some of the thrifty/antique finds I collected during my last trip to Portland. Here are some really cool things I found in my grandmother's attic:
I believe these belonged to my great grandmother.
1935, Dr. Kilmer's Swamp Root Almanac
Nudist publication. There's no date anywhere, but I think it's late 1930's-1940's.
I bought this book from one of my favorite antique stores, Sweet Pea's Rose Cottage in Milwaukie, OR.

Fairy tale found
Now that I am finally over my stomach flu I have some fun things to share! I want to start off by sharing an amazing discovery my mom and I made on Black Friday in Portland. Instead of joining the masses of people christmas shopping, we decided to drive around NE Portland and do some antique/thrift shopping. While driving down NE Fremont, we spotted an enchanting shop called Bella Flora. It happened to actually be an artist's studio. The owner and artist Elaine Falbo, is an accomplished weaver of baskets, wreaths, and other natural fiber objects. But what truly captured me were the tiny and beautiful fairy furniture that she makes! I was totally captured by their magic and I have to say that I am now reliving my fairy-phase. Check out her site here.
