My latest project...

This is a fun project I haven't done since high school- transform an old, worn out pair of jeans into a cool skirt! Only this time I decided to experiment with bleach tie-dye. I'm pretty happy with the results! I've been working on writing a tutorial for this project which will be included in Kristin Roach's upcoming book, Creative Mending.

BBQ + Birthday + Vacation

It's been way too long since my last post and I have some fun things to tell you about! Lets see, first off, here are some photos from the backyard bbq I had about a week ago. It was so fun! We made god's eyes and ate bbq chicken and corn on the cob. I absolutely love my mom's backyard in the summer time :)

Last weekend I headed up to Seattle to visit friends and see my favorite band, TacocaT play at Pizzafest. After a three days of fun I headed back to Portland, but didn't stay home for long. James and I left late Sunday night for my family's beach cabin in Pacific City, OR. We spent 3 days lounging, cooking great food (well, James did), and catching up on Glee episodes. We took a trip into Tillamook to go to the store and stopped at a few antique/thrift stores. I love weird small town thrift stores! Here were some of my finds...

These books were 10 for $1 or $1 each! I originally walked up to the counter with 2 books, and had to go back and find 8 more. And I of course, chose all children's books because what's the use of a book without pictures or conversations?

My last find may be a little ridiculous. But what 26-year-old wouldn't want sunshine barbie for their birthday!? Her dress reminded me of my favorite artist, Peter Max.

Which also reminds me to tell you that yesterday I got a new tattoo! I absolutely love it and will have pictures to show you soon :)
