So the photoshoot on Thursday was a great success! The weather was awesome and Emily, Chelcie & Bree were beautiful. Natasha took some amazing shots and we had a lot of fun.
Apparently those pretty balloons I bought were never meant to be used as a prop. They escaped before we had a chance to use them.
This is Russ. He was barbecuing at the picnic table near where we were shooting.

Sasquatch
I spent this Memorial Day weekend at the Gorge for my first Sasquatch Music Festival. I was overwhelmed and amazed by the experience. In just 2 days, I got to hang out in the hot sun and listen to amazing bands like Animal Collective, TV On The Radio, Hockey, St. Vincent, Of Montreal and Jane's Addiction. I have never been to a more beautiful venue. Here is a photo of the main stage.

Handmade Cards
I've been severely slacking lately in the card-making department. I missed Mother's Day, my brother's bday and my dad's bday (sorry fam!). But I thought I'd post about these two cards I made most recently. I think making a card by hand is way more thoughtful/fun than a store bought one.
This card I made for Teresa's 21st birthday.
I made this for my friend Patrick after his bicycling accident last year. Luckily, he didn't break his sense of humor :-)

I'm loving..
Sabrina Ward Harrison has been one of my favorite artists and sources of inspiration over the past 8 years. I remember stumbling upon her first book, Spilling Open when I was 16 and was truly captivated. Her art journals inspired and helped me develop my own artistic dreams and style.
I was so excited to discover that PAPAYA is coming out with an entire line of Sabrina products! I absolutely love these keepsake boxes.

Green Bags & Headbands
Here are two green bags that I finished last weekend.
Here is my first headband. Made from a recycled t-shirt. First tie-dyed and then cut into strips and braided. The beads at the ends are my favorite part. What do you think?

The cutest vintage egg cups!
I've had my eye open for some cute vintage egg cups for a while. These are the cutest ones I've seen! Too bad someone else already got their hands on them.

The Black Apple
I am absolutely in love with the work of Emily Martin at The Black Apple. I just broke down and bought this beautiful print. I think this will be the first thing I frame and hang up in my new "room" inside my mom's basement when I move in with her in June. Btw- I am "officially" moving back to Portland (finally!) and am very excited!
Check out Emily's blog too!

Fashion with Soul Power
I came across these amazing photos by Gibbous on the blog, My Folk Lover. I think I am in love! Each piece is one-of-a-kind and made from collected bits & pieces of old victorian clothes. Here's a quote from their "about" page:
"We believe clothes can have souls. We believe clothes should really be worn. Lovingly mended, kept a lifetime & passed down. They can be dear as an old friend or childhood home."
"Gibbous was born of neccessity. In a world ever growing more one size fits all, we are cultivating garments as individual as their wearer & distilling them with all the left behind beauty of the past, present & future."
See more at the Gibbous website and flickr.
Did I mention they sell Gibbous pieces in PORTLAND!?!?!!! That city is calling me by name. xoxo
