Bag #2

Yesterday I finished bag #2! For this one, I used a slightly lighter weight fabric. It was easier to work with - especially with the applique embellishments, but I think I like the weight of the first bag better (I used a heavier canvas). Let me know what you think! I am going to be ordering more dye colors soon. I've already received requests for some darker color bags. So- I think I will have a line of bags that are bright colors (blues, yellows, pinks, etc). And another line that has dark colors (browns, blacks, dark blues/greens, etc.)

Camp Smartypants Logos

So lately I've been working on a logo for Camp Smartypants. Here are a few that I've come up with so far. What do you think?

Tell me what you think?

So remember when I was working on the tie-dye project? Well, here (finally) is the finished product! Yay! I finished my first bag! I am so excited. And I think it turned out really cool. My plan is to make lots of different bags and sell them on Etsy. I'll use my hand-tie-dyed fabric and applique something unique on each one. I hope to launch my shop this spring, so stay tuned!

Don't you pimp out my heart

I know I've blogged about the band, Of Montreal before- but I couldn't resist writing another post about their newest album, Skeletal Lamping, that came out last summer. I swear to god I've been listening to the entire album at LEAST once every day (for months!). And I've have listened to it dancing around my apartment MORE than twice. :-)

So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you haven't checked out this album yet- DO IT! It will blow your mind.
How could anyone resist these guys?

Buon Appetito!

This weekend I went down to Portland to relax and visit my family. On Saturday night, my mom (and Lindsay and Rich) and I made an amazing pasta dish inspired by this recipe. Mom bought three live crab from ABC Seafood. We cooked them and made them into an amazing creamy pasta sauce. Lindsay and I used my mom's pasta maker (the one that attaches to her Kitchen Aid) to make fresh tagliatelle pasta. We tossed the pasta with fresh spinach and topped it with the crab cream sauce, parmesan cheese, and a dash of black pepper. With a glass of chianti, I was in heaven!

I wish I had my camera out when my mom put the crab in the pot of boiling water!

Coming Together!

So this weekend I started developing my tie-dye fabric into a bag. I made my own bag pattern and chose a butterfly to applique on the purple tie-dye. And the bag is almost finished! All I need is to go buy a snap-closure thingy to sew into it. Check back next week, as I hope to have it finished by then!
